Anneke Scott is "rapidly emerging as one of the outstanding younger exponents of the natural horn". Having begun her studies with Andrew Clark and Pip Eastop at The Royal Academy of Music, she was awarded prestigious scholarships to further her study of period instruments firstly in France with Claude Maury, and then in Holland with Teunis van der Zwart.
Since her graduation she has been in demand with ensembles in the UK and continental Europe. She is currently principal horn of Sir John Eliot Gardiners Révolutionnaire et Romantique and The English Baroque Soloists, Harry Christophers The Orchestra of the Sixteen and The Avison Ensemble and has frequently worked as principal horn with The Australian Chamber Orchestra, The English Concert, Freiburg Baroque, The Early Opera Company, Concerto Caledonia and The Mahler Chamber Orchestra to name but a few.
For many years she has had a keen interest in chamber music leading to her becoming a founder member of The Etesian Ensemble. Through this ensemble she met the fortepianist Kathryn Cok with whom she formed a duo specialising in classical and romantic repertoire for horn and fortepiano. In recent years the duo has been selected as artists for Making Music (UK) and Oude Muziek Netwerk (Netherlands).
At the other end of the spectrum she has performed with the specialist contemporary music ensemble The London Sinfonietta and can be heard on two albums with The Nigel Waddington Big Band.
Anneke is currently Horn Tutor for the Junior department of Trinity College of Music, Natural Horn Tutor for the University of Birmingham and Horn Tutor for Blackheath Nursery and Prep School She has given masterclasses at the Paris Conservatoire and the Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco San-Sebastian and currently has invitations to give master-classes at the RSAMD and the Sydney Conservatoirum. In 2008 she was invited to be Natural Horn tutor on the International Early Music Summer School Michaelstein and in 2009 coached the Catalonian National Youth Orchestra (in both modern and period instruments). |
